"We believe in the power of the arts and its ability to transform communities."

The Movement Metropolitan e.V. is an intercultural public-benefit organization of local and international artists, creatives and art activists in Hamburg. Founded in 2017, The Movement develops and promotes access to cross-disciplinary contemporary artworks by creating spaces where artists and the public meet and collaborate. We bring together established and emerging artists in fields ranging from: hip hop, opera, installation and digital media, theater, literature, and music and dance.

Our Mission

By minimizing social and economic barriers, we work with artists to create unique artistic opportunities and offer access and insight into the creative process. With the funding we receive, we support, mentor and commission artists from all nationalities, socio-economic backgrounds, disciplines, religions and abilities promoting a culture of diversity, collaboration and community.

The Movement Metropolitan e.V.’s founding members hail from the performing arts, design, literature, film, theatre, cultural management, finance, and legal fields. We form a collective network that stretches across the public and private sectors.
